The Gaza Monologues

ASHTAR Theatre has launched an urgent request to its friends and theater-makers around the world to publicly read or perform The Gaza Monologues — testimonies written by ASHTAR youth in 2010, highlighting the fears, hopes, and resilience of Gazans — on Wednesday, November 29th, The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Theatre of the Oppressed NYC has heard the call and will be presenting a reading that evening. Please join us on the 29th from 7-8:50pm at The People's Forum's Cinema Room (320 W 37th St, New York, NY 10018) to hear a selection of the monologues performed live in English, Arabic, and Spanish, followed by a brief discussion to identify activism resources and organizing opportunities.

This event is free to attend, but donations to ASHTAR Theatre's psycho-social relief intervention program in the West Bank are encouraged. For more information about The Gaza Monologues and ASHTAR Theatre's work, please contact [email protected].

This event is presented by Theatre of the Oppressed NYC in partnership with ASHTAR Theatre, Friends of ASHTAR Theatre NYC, Radical Evolution, and The People's Forum.
