Unrehearsed Futures, S5, Ep #7 Theatre of the Oppressed: Beyond Intervention to Liberation
Time: 6:30am - New York (11:30 UTC | 13:30 - Cape Town | 17:00 - Mumbai | 11:30 - London)
In today’s hyper-capitalist, neoliberal era, Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) risks being reduced only to a quick-fix intervention, training module or workshop commodity. How can TO return to its original intention, to serve as the foundation of liberatory cultures, of resilient and healthier communities? In this conversation, three TO practitioners – Liz Morgan, Maulikraj Shrimali and Vandana Asha – will share their diverse experiences of being deeply embedded across social movements in Uttarakhand, Gujarat and New York.
