LPAC Presents "The Nature of the Crime"

Screen_Shot_2018-12-07_at_2.49.07_PM.png

We’re not just pieces of paper to be processed; we’re not two-dimensional characters in a crime drama. Our lives are complex and our motivations are rich — and yet we become collateral damage in a system built to dehumanize us and continue to punish us even after we have served our allotted time.

A husband tries to provide for his family; a student tries to better his life after being in and out of jail; a parolee losing his metrocard causes a chain of events that undoes his status — the nature of our lives does not fit the nature of our crimes.

LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (LPAC) is a cultural “bridge” and integral part of LaGuardia Community College, located in the most culturally diverse urban area in the world, Queens, NY.  LPAC has a long and respected history of engaging, presenting, and producing new artistic work by diverse, international artists. The organization has evolved into a destination for high quality theatre, dance, and performing arts from emerging artists who are transforming the international arts community. lpac.nyc
