Even though the TONYC team has been working reduced hours, we've planned an extensive lineup through the fall! We will have a series of trainings, some performances, and for the first time we are honored to host a workshop by Julian Boal in November. We hope you will mark your calendars and join us. Tickets are open for Theatre of the Oppressed NYC's annual benefit event, and Early Bird Tickets are available thru this Sunday, September 8th

On October 2nd, we’re bringing back our one-of-kind fundraising fight night at the People’s Forum. Join TONYC and a line-up of radicals, raconteurs, and revolutionaries for an evening spent training to change the world.

With performances to empower you, food to fuel you, activities that mobilize and motivate, and plenty of opportunities to meet future collaborators, FIGHT-RAISER II: Tactics and Theatrics will help you level-up your tool-kit for action. All this, and you’ll be directly supporting our work with communities confronting escalating attacks from the government and culture due to who they are, how they love, where they live, and their social and economic backgrounds. 

During a period of tumultuous funding trends and disastrous political policy, we need your support - and we think you need ours. Let’s build up our muscle together and get ready for the ongoing fight for justice.

Saturday, Sept 20  - Theatre of the Oppressed Starter Kit at Anti-Criminalization Communiversity

Interrupting Criminalization and Women Building Up have partnered up to offer an anti-criminalization “Communiversity” series of workshops and classes, taking place in person in Brooklyn, starting mid-August and ending in mid-November 2025. Update: The September 20th workshop "Theatre of the Oppressed Starter Kit is full. October 10-13 - Stages of Change at LaMaMa ETC

Some of the world’s most renowned practitioners of methodologies for community engagement, healing and addressing conflict will share their methods with you in six active workshops and a group discussion.
