Addressing Privilege and Power with Cops in the Head

On Sunday, January 22nd, Jokers from Theatre of the Oppressed NYC will offer a space to build momentum from the Women's March using the introspective Theatre of the Oppressed technique Cops in the Head. In this exercise, we examine internalized power structures in our communities by externalizing voices of oppression or privilege, or "cops," and then theatrically brainstorm ways to counteract them. Join us in exploring how we can confront our privilege and use our power to build a more equitable society. Sponsored by dog & pony dc and the Washington DC Coalition for Theatre and Social Justice.

RSVP required, as space is limited. Suggested donation of $10-20 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds!
