Theatre of the Oppressed NYC is partnering with the NYC Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) for “The People’s Money” — NYC’s first-ever citywide participatory budgeting process. All New Yorkers age 11 and up will be able to decide how to spend $5 million of mayoral expense funding in their borough. 

Join TONYC for an idea generation session, where you are invited to brainstorm ideas for creative projects that address your community's needs. Projects will then be developed into ballot proposals, which will be voted on by residents in each borough. Winning projects will then be implemented starting in July of 2023.

TONYC Actors will receive a $40 stipend and metrocard for attending one session. Snacks will also be provided at the end of the session.

Masks and proof of vaccination is required to attend in-person sessions.
