Housing Works Theatre Troupe: Apartment Complex

Theatre of the Oppressed NYC and Housing Works present

Apartment Complex

Housing Works, Apartment Complex

The apartment is rightfully yours — but the landlord is playing tricks to evict you for someone who pays more.

Watch New Yorkers struggle to get and keep safe and affordable housing when the landlord decides that rent stabilization and housing vouchers are standing in the way of profits. Apartment Complex was created and performed by the Housing Works Theatre Troupe, based on the real life experiences of the actors.

Housing Vouchers are financial aid provided to low income New Yorkers to help pay their rent. Some of these programs are HASA, Section 8, and LINK.

This troupe is also developing a new Legislative Theatre session on this very issue. Stay tuned!
