Dignity in Schools: Week of Action

DignityinSchools.jpg

Dignity in School Campaign-NY is having a teach-in organized by students, parents, and educators on Monday, October 23rd at 5 pm. The teach-in will focus on the need to end racial disparities in NYC schools. We are calling on the Mayor to end school based arrests and summonses in NYC schools.

Food will be provided! Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 18!

Black, Latinx, Asian, and Indigenous students account for:
95% of all students arrested
93% of all students who receive a summons
93% of all NYPD Juvenile Reports
And 96% of all students who are handcuffed for emotional distress

Join us, to learn about how to help fight for our students! The event will feature a discussion, followed by a video screening, and Theater of the Oppressed piece on the School to Prison Pipeline. There will also be optional breakout sessions to discuss these topics further.
